Hello,

I wouldl like to know
If i insert products on the first insertion on root category because xml have no categories.
Then i would like to make the assignment of categories by hand.
Can i insert the new products on the new insertion on root category but just update existing and assigned by hand to category products? or because i changed the catogory it will be treated as new products?

Since the import works with the product identification element == SKU / ID, it doesn't matter where you place the products after import == in which category.

The next time you import, the products will be updated in the new location automatically if you set this in the import template.

So the answer is YES
